Community-Supported Ice Cream!
You’ve tried us at the farmers markets, you’ve visited our food cart. Maybe you’ve even picked up a pint at Lonesome’s Pizza. Now you can have our delicious ice cream delivered to your door all year round with our new Community-Supported Ice Cream* program! Like a CSA, or Community-Supported Agriculture share, you’ll purchase a subscription upfront and then enjoy your delicious ice cream at home. We’ll deliver a fresh pint of ice cream each month to your door – dry ice included! All you do is sign up, stick out a cooler on the right day, and enjoy your ice cream.
You’ll be getting some of our most creative ice cream flavors, many debuting for the first time in your delivery. In 2012, flavors have included Irish Coffee, Dulce de Leche, Bourbon Buttered Pecan and Green Curry Coconut. For some, we’re able to develop new local partnerships, like our Raspberry Chocolate Cake, including chunks of delicious Pastrygirl cake with Stahlbush Farms raspberries.
Cost of a subscription is $12 a month, which includes the ice cream, delivery and dry ice. A year-long subscription is available for the discounted rate of $10 a month, or almost 17% off.

*Is this community-supported thing just a gimmick? How is this different than just selling ice cream? We borrow this concept from small farms who work to protect themselves from risk by getting subscribers at the beginning of a season. In many ways, our ice cream business has the same challenges that farms do: extreme seasonality, investments – licenses, event registrations, equipment and machinery – that need to be made upfront at the start of a year (before we’ve made many sales), volatility in the price of ingredients. We are hoping this CSIC program can help us overcome some of these challenges and make us stronger, so we can be around for a long time serving up delicious desserts for all Portlanders!
