We bought a new ice cream truck! Well, it’s not an ice cream truck yet, but will be soon. Ray from Ray’s Custom Services is hard at work turning our new purchase into a great traveling stepvan of sweetness for us. It will be ready later this spring – expect to see it at your local street fairs and events.

We’ve been working hard to bring espresso to our food cart in SE, and we succeeded! For a time. Unfortunately, our used espresso machine has blown up on us and we are on the search for our next coffee-slinging machine. Affogatos will resume shortly.

In late January we received the Most Unique award at NARAL Pro Choice of Oregon’s annual Chocolates 4 Choice event for our Chocolate-Rosemary Ice Cream with Lemon-Rosemary Shortbread Cookies. A version of our new favorite flavor is available at our North Station location currently.

We’re also selling our ice cream bars and pints at the new Local Choice Produce Market at NW8th and Everett in the Pearl District. They are carrying Salted Caramel Stracciatella, Bourbon Buttered Pecan, Peppermint Patty and much more!

Otherwise, we’re signing up for farmers markets, fielding ice cream catering requests and taking a fun ice cream-themed trip to San Francisco. We have also been making some fun new flavors, like our recent Stoller Pinot Noir with Dried Cherries flavor that we custom-made for Stoller Family Estates’ Valentine’s Day event. Our newest flavor has nothing to do with wintertime, but is great for the cold weather: Green Curry Coconut. The brainchild of our employee extraordinaire Sarah, this flavor is deliciously creamy, with a finishing burn that warms you right up. It promises to be a new favorite – come taste it today!

Some hours updates: Our partner at Handsome Pizza at North Station has gone on a well-deserved vacation, so our North Station location at Killingsworth is closed until January 15. In SE, we are currently open Thurs-Sat 12-8 and Sun 1-8. Look for changes there soon as we get our espresso/coffee setup going! We’ll be doing some morning hours and cutting out some of the afternoon.

Thanksgiving Hours

North Station: Open through Wednesday, November 21st then closed Thanksgiving til the following Tuesday at noon

Cart in SE: Closed Thanksgiving Day. Open regular schedule all other days.

We are in the process of expanding our offerings at our cart in SE to include espresso and other coffee drinks! We’re excited to be able to bring delicious Trailhead Coffee Roasters coffees to our little corner of the world. And the best part? Espresso + ice cream = affogatos! After we get everything installed and get good at our coffee game we’ll be rolling out the new menu offerings and reconsidering morning hours. It should all be online by the end of the month.

Finally, we’re shrinking our hours a bit to accommodate shorter, rainier days. Check out the changes on our Find Us page.

We’ll be rolling out our fall favorite flavors in the next couple of weeks, including Pumpkin Chocolate Chip, Sweet Potato Pie, Rum Raisin, Egg Nog, Peppermint Stick and more. Check out our Where To Find Us page for our updated hours, which will likely shrink a bit when the rains hit. Enjoy the last of the warm, sunny weather!

We’ve also been hard at work in the kitchen, dreaming up new flavors (Irish coffee, bourbon buttered pecan) and seen the reappearance of some old favorites (cherry amaretto, avocado, cookies and sweet cream).  Our ice cream trike sells our new chocolate-dipped ice cream bars in a variety of flavors as well as individual-sized cups with the old-fashioned wooden spoons.

Since we’re taking the truck with us, we’ll be absent from our location at 50th and Division this weekend. If you’re not coming to the festival, you can get our ice cream at North Station (N. Killingsworth at Greeley) 12-8 Friday and Saturday.

We’re excited to show off our ice cream and sample some new carts! Come on by and say hi.
