Whew! These supposedly “quiet” winter seasons seem to get busier and busier each year! Here’s what we’ve been busy working on this winter:
We bought a new ice cream truck! Well, it’s not an ice cream truck yet, but will be soon. Ray from Ray’s Custom Services is hard at work turning our new purchase into a great traveling stepvan of sweetness for us. It will be ready later this spring – expect to see it at your local street fairs and events.
We’ve been working hard to bring espresso to our food cart in SE, and we succeeded! For a time. Unfortunately, our used espresso machine has blown up on us and we are on the search for our next coffee-slinging machine. Affogatos will resume shortly.
In late January we received the Most Unique award at NARAL Pro Choice of Oregon’s annual Chocolates 4 Choice event for our Chocolate-Rosemary Ice Cream with Lemon-Rosemary Shortbread Cookies. A version of our new favorite flavor is available at our North Station location currently.
We’re also selling our ice cream bars and pints at the new Local Choice Produce Market at NW8th and Everett in the Pearl District. They are carrying Salted Caramel Stracciatella, Bourbon Buttered Pecan, Peppermint Patty and much more!
Otherwise, we’re signing up for farmers markets, fielding ice cream catering requests and taking a fun ice cream-themed trip to San Francisco. We have also been making some fun new flavors, like our recent Stoller Pinot Noir with Dried Cherries flavor that we custom-made for Stoller Family Estates’ Valentine’s Day event.
